Laura has taught both traditional and non-traditional students as an adjunct instructor or lecturer for nearly 25 years in both public and private college settings.
Holding a PhD in political science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Master’s degree from the University of Memphis in political science, and Bachelors degree from Excelsior College, her background in both institutional, behavioral and policy areas within the discipline is broad, and she tries to integrate all of those things into each course she teaches.
In addition to her work teaching, Ebke serves as a State Senator representing the 32nd Legislative District, which allows her to bring a unique policymaking perspective to her course discussions, and allowing students to get an up close and personal look at how the “sausage” (policy) is really made.
Laura is married, and has 3 children, including one grown daughter who is a Doane graduate, married to a Doane graduate. She and her husband are expecting their first grandchild in April of 2017.
